GlobalData is looking for a permanent full-time Editor to take responsibility for its Verdict healthcare sites. The publisher is looking for an established editor with experience editing and writing for journalistic publications. The perfect candidate should have up-to-date knowledge on the pharma, science, or healthcare industry, experience with line managing a small team of journalists, be brimming with ideas, and excited about creating and editing engaging content.

Joining our growing Manchester office, you ll take a key role in our push to become one of the world s leading B2B media publishers.
The Editor will be tasked with ensuring the latest clinical trials trends and news are covered in an engaging way that keep readers coming back for more. The world is changing and the Editor will need to ensure both the excitement and fears of the future leap off the page.
Working closely with colleagues across the editorial, SEO, analyst and data teams, the Editor will be responsible for editing, writing, researching, and publishing content on Verdict s healthcare websites and digital magazines.
What you will do
- You will join a team working on our portfolio of B2B websites, covering sectors such as pharmaceuticals and clinical trials
- Edit and produce original news articles and features relevant for the key audience
- Establish a network of contacts and feature sources across the pharma industry
- Manage, guide and develop a small team of healthcare reporters
- Develop content ideas that are engaging, relevant and in line with our audience strategy
- Work closely with other teams covering healthcare industry news and projects and colleagues in the data journalism, research and analysis teams to develop exclusive data-led news and feature articles
What We Look For
Candidates should possess:
- At least two-years experience editing and writing original journalistic news stories and features
- Experience line managing journalists
- Proven ability to identify, research and develop news and features
- Keen attention to detail and strong command of the English language
- Speed and accuracy are a must for this busy role editing news stories and comment/analysis articles.
- Science and/or journalism background required as well as at least a demonstrable understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and R&D landscape
- CMS and SEO knowledge desired but not essential
- Familiarity with WordPress would be beneficial
