Merkur 39C 'Barber Pole' Slant Safety Razor with pack of blades. This is an excellent razor made in the renowned metal working area of Solingen in Germany.The 'barber pole' refers to the double twist pattern machined into the handle for good grip. The 'slant' refers to the angle of the razor: instead of meeting hairs straight on it meets them at an angle. This means that the blade has a gentle slicing action rather than a chopping one. There are one or two hysterical reviews about this razor but it is actually very suitable for beginners; just use it gently and let the weight of the razor do the work. It is also one of the very few safety razors that can comfortably take off a full beard, if required. It has hardly been used and is surplus to requirements (I simply have too many razors!).
