Donor Relations Lead

We are looking for a Donor Relations Lead to join an energised and committed major gifts team with significant ambitions for developing and sustaining relationships with new and existing donors.

Position: Donor Relations Lead

Location: Cambridge/Hybrid (minimum of 2 days in the office for full-time staff)

Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 (depending on skills and experience)

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (part-time hours are negotiable)

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

This role is key to leading excellent stewardship of donors and the management of our recently re-launched 1766 Circle of Benefactors. They will create a compelling and thoughtful stewardship plan and then deliver excellent communications and touch points with some of our closest supporters to make them feel connected and regularly inspired by the charity. Ultimately the role will lead ACT s major donor stewardship programme through the establishment of slick systems, sympathetic and thoughtful donor engagement and a pragmatic approach to project management. The post holder will ensure excellence and a consistent approach to major donor giving at ACT.

The Donor Relations Lead will report to the Director of Philanthropy and work closely with the Philanthropy Team.

With the Director of Philanthropy, you will create and deploy a stewardship programme for all donors, delivering the yearly plan of newsletters, reports, cards, and events (delivered by the Events Lead). You will thank all new donations in a thoughtful, personalised way, ensuring all communications are recorded on the charity s database.

Key responsibilities will include:

Strategically develop a thoughtful and intelligent stewardship plan for our major donors. Take responsibility for the courteous and efficient care of our major donors.

Plan and deliver an annual stewardship programme to engage our donors, so that they feel appreciated and well looked after.

Be responsible for the development, coordination, and quality of all stewardship materials e.g. letters/emails/newsletters to deliver first-class donor stewardship.

Review and recommend changes to our donor management systems, making sure we have impeccable standards.

Establish and roll out the highest standards of donor communication, thoughtful touches, perfect tone of voice, impeccable grammar and punctuation.Oversee meticulous administration of our systems e.g. database management and reporting.

Liaise with appropriate teams to ensure considered stewardship and involvement of donors, regardless of the project they have supported. Enthusiastic immersion in the charity s priority projects so you can communicate eloquently about our impact to donors.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have high standards of personal communication (written and oral), you will need excellent attention to detail, you will need to be experienced in managing timelines of projects and you will need to be a kind and professional team colleague. Most of all, you will need to understand how to make donors feel valued and ensure that everything you do is thought through from their perspective.
