Position: Director of Finance
Location: Ellesmere Port, Northwest, Hybrid
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Renumeration Package: Up to GBP60,000
Contract: Permanent

About the Role
As the Director of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial sustainability and strategic growth of the organisation. Your leadership will drive not only sound financial management but also the forward direction of the Charity, facilitating the organisation's mission to support and empower young people across the North West of England.
Your primary goal is to deliver accurate and timely financial insights to support informed decision-making while maintaining robust internal controls and governance standards, but additionally, you ll be keeping an eye on continual improvement across the Charity as a whole and strategically aligning services to meet both short and long term objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
Contribute to overall strategic direction, develop and implement financial strategies aligned with charity goals, and lead the Charity s Business Plan.
Lead a high-performing team, control annual budgets, provide accurate financial reporting, and offer advice to support objective achievement.
Have full responsibility for the financial management of the organisation.
Develop effective financial management systems, maintain compliance with regulations, and manage risk through proactive measures.
Report on financial health to the Chief Executive and Trustees, champion organisational values, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Identify and mitigate financial risks, maintain risk registers, and ensure adherence to governance procedures and purchasing policies.
Lead and manage the charity's information security systems, acting as the data protection officer.
About You
As the Director of Finance, you will have a demonstrable track record in overseeing project finances and proven experience in financial leadership and management.
You will also:
Hold a professional finance qualificationBe educated to degree level or equivalentHave a strong knowledge of charity financial regulations, SORP, and FRSs.Have a good understanding of the third sector.Have experience in project managementHave an understanding of investment modelsBe proficient in financial analysis and risk management.Have experience in leading and managing external audits and financial reporting.Be familiar with procurement processes and information security.Have the ability to present financial data to a non-financial audience.
