Director of Engagement
A mixture of office (central London) and home working is anticipated with this role
Full Time Permanent Position Salary circa GBP90,000
The Royal Society of Medicine (the "Society") is a charity whose mission is to share learning and support innovation across all areas of healthcare. The Society is a leading provider of continuing learning for healthcare professionals and is a membership organisation with over 20,000 members in the UK and overseas.
A new strategy was launched in 2021 and given the significant changes brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Society is embarking on exciting transformational projects. The Director of Engagement will play a crucial role in leading, influencing and supporting these new developments.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and attend Council and relevant Council Committees as well as having responsibility for the Engagement directorate of 16 people across membership, marketing and communications.
Together with the team, you will work to grow the Society's membership and income, developing and delivering membership recruitment and retention strategies, growing attendee numbers for the Society's education programmes and maximising engagement and income from affinity partnerships.
With extensive senior experience across membership organisations, you will have a track record of developing and implementing strategies for income and membership growth as well as experience of developing strong income generating commercial partnerships.
Exceptional analytical and business planning skills are needed to deliver information and insight to support strategic planning.
