Sir Sidney Nolan is arguably Australia's best known modern artist. He is widely recognised as one of the most innovative and provocative artists of the twentieth century, and his work is represented in leading national and private collections across the world. Nolan established the Trust bearing his name in the mid 1980s. His vision was to create a place where contemporary art could flourish alongside music, poetry and drama.
Today the Trust owns and manages his former estate, as well as an extensive collection of Nolan's work and archive at The Rodd in north Herefordshire, just outside Presteigne.
The Trust is seeking an experienced, inspirational and commercially focused Director to build on the Trust's success to date and lead the charity. The Director will work with the Board of Trustees on strategy formulation, planning, income generation, resourcing, programming, operational performance and governance. The Director will be responsible for the on-going maintenance and management of the Trust buildings, collections and wider estate.
We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, proven financial management and business planning skills, and the ability to engage with and build audiences.
