The Development Chemist role will be suited to those with a background in chemistry and hold a relevant qualification to degree level. You will have a strong awareness of current labelling and supply legislation (e.g. CLP, REACH) with good analytical and problem solving skills. The role will involve occasional travel to the European HQ, the successful candidate must be willing and able to travel occasionally.

The role of Development Chemist reports directly to development management in the European HQ. Split between the office on data lead initiatives and the lab for development work the role is responsible primarily for the formulation and improvement of new and existing products. Preparation of written lab reports and comparative product evaluations. Preparation of samples and associated documentation for customer evaluation and approval. Evaluation and approval of new and alternative raw material and packaging specifications. Performance and reporting of pack stability trials. The site runs on a ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 compliant safety management system and quality management system, experience within this environment will be advantageous.

The person required:

Degree qualified in a Chemistry or scientific development related discipline.

Development experience with working knowledge of labeling and supply legislation

Strong analytical mindset with proven problem solving ability

Confident communicating at all levels

Willing to travel occasionally to European HQ
