Our client is an established company based in Chipping Warden. They are a customer–driven organisation that provides exceptional bespoke, premium services within automotive fleet management, including maintenance, management and movement solutions for some of the most well–recognised vehicle fleets across the UK. Due to impressive growth, they are now looking to acquire the services of a Despatch Coordinator. The successful candidate will support and assist the driver network while on the road to deliver a best–in–class service. Getting drivers en route, reviewing the day's schedule and booking the most efficient and cost–effective travel to support the drivers in completing their working day within the scheduled hours. The Despatch team is the heartbeat of the logistics operation, and critical to delivering the service expected by all their customers. A fast–paced, challenging but extremely rewarding department enables employees to gain a wealth of logistics and business knowledge, which may prove to be a stepping stone to other opportunities within the logistics team.Please note due to the location of the company you must be able to drive and have your own transport.Main Responsibilities: Ensure all drivers leave and start their jobs as per the planned schedule, any delays or issues should be escalated to the Despatch Supervisor. Full understanding of the AssetSmart Scheduling module to enable daily changes to driver's days as and when required. Prepare daily work and run schedules. Liaising and notifying the accounts teams of any scheduling changes, driver delays or anything else that may have an impact on the service level. Advise drivers about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards. Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, charges, expenses, inventory, and other despatch information. Booking taxi's, trains or any other travel requirements for the driver network on a daily basis, but always looking at the most cost–effective and efficient route for the driver. Printing all release notes, pairing the keys to the drivers work and allocating to the driver's personal shelf for the next day (Late Shift). Reporting any driver training challenges to the Despatch Supervisor and the Training and Development Manager. Support with training new despatch team members and the driver support team.Key Skills and Experience: Minimum 1 year's previous experience of working in an administration role, ideally within a Despatch or logistics–related function/department. Excellent PC skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines. Must be highly self–motivated and able to work unsupervised to achieve high standards. Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Proactive, positive and with a flexible attitude to work.Additional Information: This is a full–time, temporary to permanent position working a rotating shift Monday – Friday 6 am – 3 pm and Monday – Friday 10 am – 7 pm.
