Our client is looking to recruit a Design Engineer to work alongside and support their existing team of Design Engineers. The company designs, manufactures and installs equipment used predominantly within the electrical power and distribution industry and are keen to see candidates who have worked ideally within a steel fabrication environment. Projects range in value from 2,000 to 1.5M and consist of noise solutions such as doors, screens and enclosures.

Duties:
Work with Projects Team and sub-contractors during the conception, design, manufacture & installation phases of the projects.Produce accurate 2D drawings for client approvals and 3D fabrication and installation drawings.Carry out ventilation analysis (CFD) & produce reports for client approval.Produce full design packages consisting of BOMs, design specification, installation detail drawings & post installation as-built documentation.Liaise with the Projects Team to assist with the production of RAMS & site installation packs.Occasional travel to sites, clients, sub-contractors and suppliers may be required.
Experience:
Qualified to HNC or Degree level in an engineering subjectPrevious experience working in an engineering design environment using AutoCAD and Solidworks.A solid understanding of CFD simulation is necessary.Some experience of using PDM software is required.A good knowledge of practical sheet metal fabrication is essential.Occasional visits to client sites, sub-contractors and suppliers with overnight stays will be requiredCandidates need to reside within a commutable distance of Colchester and must have driving licence with own transport.
