Design and Technology Teacher Your new school
This well-established Secondary School based in North Birmingham are looking for a Design and Technology Teacher to join the Department. Receiving a "GOOD" in their last Ofsted report, this School ensures all Students receive good quality of Education. The School has introduced enrichment lessons for all pupils. These provide opportunities for pupils to experience a wider curriculum. All staff have a shared desire to improve the school.
Your new job
As this is a long-term role starting in January 2024, you will be required to:
Plan and prepare Design and Technology lessons, focussed on Design & Resistant Materials for pupils in KS3 and KS4 (potentially KS5 dependent on experience)Complete the marking and assessment of pupils’ work, along with being involved with facility and department meetingsYou will deliver these lessons in a positive learning environment, ensuring all pupils are progressing consistently and achieving target grades. Have a focus on keeping high expectations of students’ attainment and behaviour.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must:
Possess QTS or QTLS Have experience teaching Design and Technology within a secondary school. ECT’s with Maths placement experience will be considered. You will possess excellent behaviour management skills. You will be keen to work as part of a team, share ideas and good practice. You will be available to start in February and continue on a long-term basis until the end of the academic year.
