MLC Partners are working with an NHS organisation who are looking to recruit a in an exciting opportunity.
Our client is looking for an experienced payroll professional to step into the Deputy Head of Payroll and Pension's role.
This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely remuneration and pensions advice for their staff. You will also be involved in helping expand the service offering across the region.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will lead a team of skilled payroll & pensions managers and officers, overseeing the accurate and efficient processing of payroll and pensions for the employees whilst influencing positive change.
Your expertise will contribute to maintaining their reputation for reliable and timely remuneration services and accurate pension processing and filing. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and provide ongoing training and support to your teams whilst working alongside the Head of Payroll and Pensions to continually strive for service improvement.
Main responsibilities include:
Provide strategic direction and guidance to the payroll and pensions teams, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and best practicesCollaborate closely with the Head of Payroll and Pensions to develop and implement payroll and pensions strategies aligned with the Trust's goalsOversee the accurate processing of payroll for a diverse workforce, including staff across various roles and pay scalesLead for the payroll & pensions teams in managing the ESR system enhancements ensuring communication and training is provided for the system amendmentsDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersStay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and pension regulations, adapting processes as necessaryProvide insightful reporting and analysis related to payroll and pensions for decision–making purposes Experience Required
Extensive experience managing large operational teams (30+) within a high–volume payroll and pensions serviceExperience in providing solutions and service efficiencies within the Payroll function within complex organisationsDemonstrable success achieving demanding targets and meeting and service level agreementsAble to build credible and influential working relationships at all levels within and outside the organisationExpert knowledge of Agenda for change (AfC) terms and conditions.Expert user of ESR (Electronic Staff Record) Please submit your CV to be considered for this role.
