The Deputy Chief Volunteering Officer Role:
The Deputy Chief Volunteering Officer, working in partnership with national volunteer colleagues, is responsible for leading our approach and managing our resources to ensure we continue to attract, recruit and retain volunteers to run day to day Scouting activities for young people within Scout Groups as well as our volunteers who lead and manage our volunteers within our District, County and Regional support structures.
Key responsibilities as our Deputy Chief Volunteering Officer:
Leading the Scouts operational portfolio of work to deliver inclusive growth objectives, ensuring cross-organisation coordinating of work, people and external funding commitments. Meeting agreed targets by leading our remote teams of staff focused on recruiting volunteers and growing Scouting s membership across England in an inclusive way that enables us to provide skills for life to more young people, making best use of volunteer and staff expertise. Playing a leading role in the Scouts approach to volunteer recruitment and inclusive membership growth across the UK and in our overseas locations. Working with the Chief Commissioner of England and Regional Commissioners (our lead volunteers) to ensure a partnership approach between staff and volunteers in England responsible for driving and achieving inclusive growth. What we are looking for in our Deputy Chief Volunteering Officer:
Demonstrable record of achievement in a leadership role at senior management level within an organisation of comparable size, scope and complexity Knowledge and understanding of methods to increase engagement and meet agreed outcomes across a range of internal and external channels (e.g. telephone, email, web support, live events). Experience of effectively developing high performing teams whilst instilling a strong sense of accountability and empowerment in a values based culture Full UK driving licence Able and willing to work frequent evenings and weekends What we can offer you as our Deputy Chief Volunteering Officer:
