Position Overview:
As a Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising the database systems, ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of critical data infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and enhance database solutions that support our mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities:
Ensure production databases are online and available, ensuring application connectivity.Databases are routinely backed up successfully and restores are tested.Databases must meet and exceeded a baseline performance level. Analysis into performance of the databases is key.All databases adhere to the latest releases/security patches where available. These must be installed without impact to the customer.Ensure data from production is replicated in a timely and accurate manner into the data warehouse.Guarantee the data warehouse schema is updated and in line with production database developments to allow for new changes to be replicated.Test environments are kept up to date with fresh data exports from production environments.Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) Cube is kept up to date with recent data and is processed successfully.The Learning Management System (LMS) is up and operation with successful nightly syncs. It is also up to date / on a supported version of the software.
Qualifications / Experience:
Practical experience with relational databases, Oracle, MS-SQL, MySQL.Strong understanding of data modelling.Some experience in frontend application development.Experience in delivering technical presentations.Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.Ability to successfully communicate between companies and company departments.
