Home-Start believe in building strong foundations for families. Our organisation is dedicated to providing peer support and intervention services. An exciting new collaboration has been established with Dad Matters, an organisation dedicated to helping dads have successful relationships with their families, and to support Dads with anxiety, stress and mental health issues during the Perinatal Period.
This Coordinator role is a brand-new position working on a project with Dad Matters. Join the team in making a positive impact on the lives of parents and children in Camden and Islington.
About the Role:
As a Dad Matters Co-ordinator, you'll play a crucial role in supporting male parents during the First 1001 Days. Your responsibilities will include peer support, raising awareness of mental health issues, and developing volunteer initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full responsibility for recruiting and managing a team of volunteers dedicated to supporting fathers in the community
Engage and support fathers through individual and group interactions
Promote the project both online and within the community
Emphasise the significance of parent-infant relationships in all engagements
Raise awareness about mental health risks and provide support for fathers
Develop and enhance the Dad Matters volunteer role while fostering community connections
Conduct regular consultations with fathers through outreach efforts and focus groups
Collaborate directly with parents in antenatal clinics and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Work closely with Perinatal Mental Health teams, Adult Mental Health, IAPT, and Parent Infant Mental Health
Undertake designated responsibilities to safeguard and promote children’s welfare
