Templewood Recruitment have partnered with our client, who are an international leader in entertainment lighting technology. They are seeking someone to assist with Customs Coordination as part of their Logistics Team in their London Office, which is situated in North Acton.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in the freight industry and customs clearance. Due to the fast paced nature of this role, strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and good organizational skills are highly important.

Coordinate the shipping process for international shipments into & out of the London officeCommunicates with both internal departments and forwarding agents to ensure a smooth and efficient international shipping processEffectively communicates delays, backorders, and expected availabilityProvides information to customers as needed and assists in coordinating direct shipment deliveriesContacts carriers to schedule pick up for international orders and provides carrier pick-up scheduling information to ensure freight readinessPrepares and provides legally compliant export documentation for international shipments and coordinates all associated paperwork through to filingCoordinate the preparation of commercial invoices and proforma invoices when requiredMaintains required filing of copies of international shipping documentationMaintains the assignment of commodity codes and countries of origins for UK exports/importsCollects and maintains accurate information on product classifications, vendor classifications, harmonized tariff classifications, country of origin determinations, commodity codes, product valuation reporting, sanctioned party list screening, and export license applications.Remains current with changing international shipping regulationsCoordinates, implements, and maintains trade compliance regulations, policies, procedures, compliance programs, training, licensing and import/export audit programsCreates and maintains procedures necessary to remain in compliance with UK Customs legal requirementsCoordinates customs subjects and audits Minimum Qualifications
3-5 or more years' experience working in a Logistics environmentCompleted formal Import & Export Manager training through an accredited programExcellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop relationships and collaborate across intercompany departments and groupsStrong research, analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasksGood attention to detail and accuracyWillingness to travel if necessaryComputer skills: Experience with SAP and competent in the use of Microsoft OfficeKnowledge & interest in continuing education in import/export lawAt this level, the employee, having developed expertise in the line of work resolves most of the conflicts that arise and determines the approach to be taken.
