Applications for full or part time work are welcomed

Governors of Acland Burghley School are looking to appoint an outstanding Curriculum Technician for Food Technology from January 2024 to support in our new Food Technology department, and help turn it into a thriving and inclusive curriculum space.

The successful candidate will ensure the smooth and successful day to day running of the area, ensuring it is efficiently used and excellently maintained, to maximise its impact on the quality of our provision and on student outcomes. The primary role will be to support teachers and instructors in delivering a rich experience in Food Technology to a wide variety of students.

We use the room for a wide range of activities, including Technology lessons at Key Stage 3, BTEC Home and Basic Cooking Skills Level 1 for students with Special Educational Needs, Personal Development and Life Skills lessons for students across the school, including in the 6 th form, and a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and events.

You will have a strong understanding of the role that good food education can play in supporting personal development for young people. You will be determined to support all students, including those who are disadvantaged and those with additional educational needs.

The postholder will be a member of the wider Curriculum Technician team, and will be available to support across the Creative Arts and Technology Faculty as required, under the direction of the Head of Faculty. Applicants with an interest in other curriculum areas (Music, Art, Drama, Dance or Technology) should state this in their application, as the wider parts of the role will be agreed with the postholder on appointment.

Above all, applicants should demonstrate an uncompromising belief in the potential of every student. If you share our passion for ensuring high standards for all, and have the ambition to be part of an exciting future for young people in our school, we would very much like to hear from you.

To arrange an informal conversation about the role, please contact Michelle Lineham, HR Manager by emailing

Closing date for applications: 9am Monday 8 January 2024

Interviews: w/c Monday 8 January 2024
