My client is searching for a Court of Protection – Solicitor to join their Sale, Greater Manchester offices.

Person Specification

• 2 – 5 years PQE with at least 2 years Court of Protection experience • Professional and academic qualifications as required for the role.• Computer literacy• An effective communicator, both orally and in writing• Ability to work under own initiative with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft applications to the Court of Protection for the appointment of deputies for property and affairs• Work on statutory will applications• Work on gift applications• Prepare annual OPG accounts. • Liaising with Investment Managers and Financial Planners • Organise the purchase of properties and adaptations to meet client needs.• Demonstrate In depth knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005• To comply with the requirements of the firm's policies and procedures• To ensure the confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation and information• Supervision of fee–earning work undertaken by junior colleagues• Participation in marketing activities whether on a firm wide, departmental or office basis• Ensure good working relationships with external third parties, institutions, and organisations.• Take personal responsibility for keeping up to date with changes and developments in the Law
