Our client, a manufacturing business with a traditional machine shop near Huddersfield, is looking to strengthen their engineering team with the appointment of an additional Costings Engineer. You will provide a costing and partial production engineering service to the business to ensure that systems are robust and up to date and that the development of quotes and orders from sales are correctly put into the system. As Costings Engineer you'll need an engineering qualification and at least two years' design experience using CAD software alongside basic knowledge of technical engineering drawings. Control and automate item generation

Creation and maintenance of production standards through routings and bills of materials in the ERP system

Manual calculation of costs for new products

Technical Studies involving material handling problems, determining the characteristics of operational equipment and value analysis

Management of projects to improve productivity

An engineering qualification (or equivalent)

At least two years post-qualification experience of mechanical engineering

Basic knowledge of technical engineering drawings and their creation with CAD programs such as AutoCAD

Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and design specific software
