I am recruiting for two Cost Engineers for one of the biggest employers in Poole.
As a cost engineer, you will be responsible for improving the cost of manufacturing components and materials as well as ensuring the efficient use of materials.
One of the role is for someone with an electrical bias. If you have a great understanding of electrical components such as AV/Nav, communication and entertainment systems and want to get more into a cost engineering role, this is the one for you.
I also have a role for those that are more mechanically biased. You will be working on exterior components for a very customisable product.
Overall responsibilities for both Cost Engineers:
Source accurate cost information, potential alternatives that meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.Recommend alternative products which fulfil the design requirements but present a cost effective alternative without effecting quality.Work with Design and Project Management to create a cost budget for NPD, tracking the evolution of the costs from high level budget, estimate, quotation, ordered cost and actual's.Highlight cost savings through NPD costing activity, which can be rolled across existing products to leverage cost savings throughout the business.Utilise SAP, Excel or any other business systems as required to extract and analyse data in the furtherance of the role.Identify and eradicate pricing issues within your specific alpha code areas, working with the BOM Controlling, Finance and Purchasing teams to increase master data accuracy.Who am I looking for?
Experience Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers or Electricians that have worked within the commercial side of things.
Someone that is confident using Excel and other commercial systems such as SAP.
Training can be provided in the cost improvement aspect of the role. THe most important thing is the technical engineering knowledge to build from.
