You will work collaboratively with your colleagues to help us to secure suitable sponsorship opportunities with a range of businesses to support our growth.
To increase its impact and reach, The King's Fund raises additional income and support from a variety of sources. As such, fostering effective corporate relationships is a crucial part of our work and overall strategy. The strategy combines a corporate partnerships programme with event sponsorship and exhibition sales. All income generation is carried out in line with our Ethical Collaboration Policy.
This role is integral to income generation within the Partnerships and Business Development team and the successful candidate should be highly self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative. , The post holder will carry out income generation activity, primarily by acquiring new business, mainly from the commercial sector Adopting a consultative sales approach, the post holder will build relationships with a range of businesses to secure sponsorship and exhibition income for our conferences and online events as well as potential new members to The King's Fund corporate partnerships programme.
Key responsibilities include:
Securing event sponsorship and exhibition income, to achieve stretching income targets. This will be done through a combination of targeted outbound activity and qualifying inbound leads. You will be comfortable engaging with prospects using a range of tools and channels such as email, LinkedIn, events, etc. Identifying and qualifying potential new business opportunities and prioritizing approaches based on strategy / value alignment and likelihood and relying on insights from a range of sources. Developing and maintaining product knowledge on a regular basis and being a go-to expert on our sponsorship products. Ensuring that event sponsorship products are consistent with our strategic priorities, and maximising opportunities for cross selling of sponsorship and partnership programmes. Writing high quality external communications documents, including sponsorship marketing materials as required (working closely with the events and marketing teams) Maintaining a healthy pipeline of well-qualified leads, through strong external relationships with potential sponsors, corporate partners, and supporters. Securing and leading new business meetings, and maintaining strong relationships. Co-ordinating and presenting at external meetings and prospect pitches. The Fund is committed to a hybrid working model that meets the organisation's needs, while giving staff flexibility to choose between office and home working. Most staff are expected to work a minimum of 40% from our central London office and are free to work more days from the office if they prefer. We are in the process of developing our long-term policy on this, although the expected minimum time in the office will remain 40% (pro rata).

About You
You will have excellent communication skills, a passion for securing new business and achieving impact at a values-driven organisation. You'll have a track record of success in a new business/fundraising/sales role and experience of maximising opportunities from qualifying and converting inbound leads, researching outbound prospects, generating meetings and securing income to achieve targets.
The role will include working at occasional early morning and evening events.
