Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for two Control Centre Support Officers at Transport for Greater Manchester. This is a full-time temporary role for the next 3 months, with the possibility of extension.

What is the role?

Transport for Greater Manchester are looking for a Control Centre Support Officer to deliver a 24/7 multi modal operational response. Manage operations of TfGM transport network and assets. Lead on incident and event management, to deliver an effective and cohesive organisational response across the GM transport network.

What are your responsibilities?

Monitor live transport activity using specific individual mode monitoring systems and data sources.Provide basic interventions, in a timely manner, to support transport network performance across all modes.Maintain records of data/information incoming via a logging system.Monitor TfGM and partner CCTV for network monitoring purposes, safety and the security of TfGM assets.Identification and initiation of appropriate interventions or actions when required.Active monitoring using established applications, technologies and systems, CCTV, and social media.Continual prioritising and reviewing of modal network statuses, identify issues of concern and initiate prescribed basic interventions.Liaise and escalate any ongoing incidents to the Duty Manager or Control Centre Officers above defined thresholds.Work within the compliance remit of TfGM CCTV Code of Practice, Human Rights Act and Data Protection Act.Complete tasks within specified timescales whilst working under pressure.Prioritise workload whilst dealing with emergency/ unplanned incidents. What skills do you Need?

Must have previous Control Centre Support Officer experience.Excellent people skills, as you will be speaking service users, and other members of staff including managers.Strong IT skills, as you will be using internal systems as well as Microsoft packages including Word and excel.Valid Standard DBS on the update ServiceValid CCTV LicenceExperience required within a control room in either a fire brigade, ambulance service etc.You will need to complete an assessment and then interview .This is a shift based role, so you will need to be flexible covering earlies, lates, and weekend shifts.
