As the Contract Accountant, you will act as a direct support to the portfolio of large and complex donor funded projects including commercial contracts, providing technical advice and assisting with commercial tendering and proposals.
Key Deliverables
Collaborate with country/programme finance teams to create robust budgets and income forecasts for tenders/proposals as well as supporting negotiation with donors.Produce management information and analysis and actively participate in contract/grant management groups and committees for complex projects.Produce accurate contract management accounts, budgets, and forecasts. Support finance teams overseeing daily contract finances.Ensure compliance with donor requirements for large programs, including invoicing and reporting. Develop necessary training for staff/partners as needed.Identify, manage, and report financial risks/issues related to contracts. Implement appropriate policies and procedures.Fulfill audit requirements for both programmes and the organisation. Requirements:
Ideally a fully qualified CCAB accountant or equivalentSignificant experience working with donors in a financial capacity (ideally FCDO) in an international NGOExperience working in a commercial context with a clear understanding of principles of commercial contracts/service delivery, pricing (including payment by results approaches) and cost recoveryAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience in developing excel based reporting tools and financial models.Strong decision making, influencing and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively at all levels The position can be hybrid with 2 days in the London based HQ, or fully remote with occasional travel. Occasional travel to the country programmes may also be required.
