About the opportunity We are currently recruiting for a Compliance Officer to join our Quality Assurance Team based at our Customer Support Centre in Walsall.
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Controller, the Compliance Officer ensures compliance with quality standards and regulations. The Compliance Officer will have up to date legislation knowledge to keep up to date with any legislation changes across FMCG, including food and non-food and will enable the company's stakeholders to be strategically aware of ongoing changes. The Compliance Officer will liaise with all teams to manage changes to ensure 100% compliance.
The role is a hybrid role, based at our Customer Support Centre (CSC) in Walsall, with the ability to work between 'home' and the CSC.
This role comes with the ability to study for an apprenticeship qualification.

What you'll be doing .•Ensuring policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure our product quality is maintained and our suppliers understand our requirements
•Building and maintaining relationships with Primary Authorities, 3rd Party test houses and suppliers
•Data capture and reporting, including maintaining licence agreements for cigarettes, alcohol and DVDS in UK and ROI
•Management of customer complaints reporting weekly, monthly and quarterly
•Knowledge of WEEE / Batteries, Plastic Packaging Tax, EPR for data collection and reporting in ROI / UK
•Product Registrations to be completed in line with legal requirements. (CPNP)
•Responsibility for FAMA applications on behalf of Poundland.
•Driving awareness of product quality, consumer safety, labelling and packaging compliance
•Support effective co-ordination of product withdrawals / recalls ensuring customer safety and no compromise to brand reputation
What you'll need •Minimum 5 years' experience within a QA function, within either retail, suppliers or manufacturing environment
•Understanding of product registration requirements in UK and ROI
•Knowledge of UK and EU Legislation
•Internal Audit experience with reporting
•Commercial awareness
•Excellent relationship building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
