Salary: £34,905 - £38,043, plus London Allowances (£3,913 & £1,472) pro rata
Two year fixed-term contract / Part Time (3 days per week)
The LMS is a world-class research laboratory where scientists and clinicians collaborate to advance the understanding of biology and its application to medicine. Funded by the MRC as part of UK Research and Innovation, the LMS has a collaborative working culture and new state-of-the-art building based in the heart of West London in the Hammersmith Hospital Campus.
The LMS is now looking to recruit a Digital Communications, Events and Engagement Manager whowill support the MRC and LMS’s commitment to develop ground-breaking biomedical research that promotes better public health. This is a part-time, in-person role complementing and working alongside another part-time manager.
Working at the LMS, the Digital Communications, Events and Engagement Manager will support the Grants, Engagement and Communications Team (GECo) to raise the profile of the LMS locally, nationally and internationally. This is a prime opportunity for an ambitious digital communications and engagement specialist with an interest in science, to make their mark as an innovative science communicator.
The post holder will lead our science communication and research dissemination through press, social media and other platforms, establishing goals and objectives for internal and external communications which will deliver impact from our research. They will manage our social media portfolio and outputs, manage junior staff and freelancers and will also be involved in developing and delivering engagement and outreach activities. The person appointed will also project manage a portfolio of activities.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of biomedical science and how to creatively communicate research to scientific audiences. They will have good project management skills and be adept at using digital tools for creative work.
