A leading manufacturing business require are recruiting for a Procurement Buyer or Senior Buyer. Applicants need procurement or supplier management experience, within a fast–paced manufacturing or engineering environment.

The Procurement Buyer / Senior Buyer will be responsible for the sourcing and supplier management of assigned categories, most likely mechanically engineered products and manufacturing services. The role will entail a blend of operational and strategic procurement tasks – such as scheduling/re–scheduling of orders, supplier development and negotiation.

Specific duties of the jobholder will include:

Supplier development and supplier improvement activities of critical supply and subcontract partnersManage supply of products and components to meet customer/production demandCo–operation with engineering/technical colleagues in relation to supplier quality issuesContribution to department savings targetsSupport initiatives to drive efficiencies and improvements in procurement processes/systems Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within manufacturing or engineeringExperience in taking ownership and resolving supplier issuesThe ability to use and understand procurement data to drive decision makingComfortable working with engineering colleagues, and suppliers on technical issuesCapable of working under–pressure in a fast–paced environment
