Funhouse Comedy opens the New Year at the Lyric Rooms, Ashby-de-la-Zouch on Thursday January 4th with a great night of laughter.

Topping the bill is winner of 'Dave's Best Joke of The Fringe' in Edinburgh 2017, the congenial and unassuming Mark Simmons who has appeared on 'Mock The Week'. Having supported Seann Walsh and Rob Beckett on tour, he now regularly sells out his own theatre tours. With his clever one-liners, amusingly intelligent material and warm disposition he keeps the crowd hanging on to every word.

Opening the night will be 2021 British Comedian of the Year Finalist, the incredible Scott Bennett who recently made his 'Live at the Apollo' debut, has his own Radio 4 show coming soon and is widely tipped in the industry as on the brink of the big time. He was also runner up in 2014 English Comedian Of The Year competition, Best Show Nominee Leicester Comedy Festival 2019 and support for Michael McIntyre, Rob Brydon as well as Micky Flanagan in arenas This loveable rising star enthrals the crowd with his warm and engaging delivery, he is a Yorkshire live wire with an undeniable no nonsense logic, who was busy entertaining people through the lockdown, with his 'Stand Up From The Shed' online show.

Also appearing will singer, guitarist and comedian Ronnie Golden, who appeared in 'The Young Ones' hanging upside down from the ceiling as Buddy Holly still in his parachute.

Completing the line-up is the original and outrageous Paul Merryck.

Compere for the night will be the energetic and animated Spiky Mike.
