Skilled 5-Axis CNC Mill Machinist/Programmer - Late Shift

Salary: 35k - 40k basic salary, depending on experience plus a 15% uplift on rate on Late Shift
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 14:00-23:00
Friday: 14:00 to 20:00

Overview:
As a skilled 5-Axis CNC Mill Machinist/Programmer, you will be responsible for the programming, operation, set-up and utilization of the 5-axis milling machines. As well as this, the other support processes used in the prototyping and production of machined parts and their associated automated cells and processes. You will also be able to provide training to other members of the Mill team.
Duties include:
The programming of milled components and fixturing.Perform prototype support for machining programs generated by programmers. Ensure proper use of programs and tools during prototyping and production. Give prompt recognition of program defects or shortcomings to project managers.Provide support programming for 5-axis programs, to include preliminary operations such as holes or slots, and writing or customizing main programs to maximize unmanned machine run time.Advise and consult with project managers and/or tooling department for tooling needed to complete projects.Ensure NC data programs are controlled, stored and updated correctly on machines.Produce Setup Sheets (I103)Work with project managers and engineering department to provide estimates of programming time and manufacturing time for new jobsProvide training to Mill Operator (LVL 1) and Mill Setter Operator (LVL 2) regarding machine operation, preventative maintenance and manufacturing processes of staff in the relevant skills.Design, build and maintain fixtures and set-ups for use in specified projects as assigned by the project manager or Team Leader.Ensuring machines are clean and production ready. Report faults or performance issues to the Maintenance department.Able to load, unload and restart automated Mill cells safely to promote unmanned production. Perform set-up and operation of 5-axis milling machines.Fully competent in operating assigned Mill(s). Good understanding and knowledge of cause and effect when using relevant controls and functions. Able to set up and change tooling when required.Ensuring that all the relevant data, paperwork and setting sheets are collated and accurately updated and in a timely manner.
Essential Skills:
Experience as a CNC Mill Machinist.Experience in set-up and programming of CNC Mills.Strong Math skills.General IT background.
