I am a mature gentleman, 46, born, lives and works in London. I will be taking up the Bb clarinet early in the new year. I have now purchased a clarinet I have done a decent amount of research into this beautiful instrument. I am classified as a complete beginner so would require to learn from scratch, the basics, the foundation. It is a long-term project. If you also play the flute, please notify me as I am wondering if I can learn both together.
I am seeking an experienced qualified clarinet teacher who is who is willing to assist my theoretical and practical growth with this instrument. You would need to be extremely patient, driven, transparent, creative, highly supportive, laidback and professional. I would also expect the lessons to be fun and enjoyable. You will be an excellent and regular communicator - especially with WhatsApp. It may suit a retired man or woman who is flexible with their time.
Due to my varied work shift patterns, I would be initially looking to have lessons at least once a week for about an hour initially. Location and costs can be discussed. I would also consider travelling to areas surrounding Greater London for the right person. Please note, I intend to play with synthetic/plastic reeds. Due to my slightly sensitive teeth, my desire is to only learn doing double lip embouchure. This will remove the need to utilise a mouthpiece patch.
Please note, I am not interested in any online lessons – only face to face in person. If this interests you, please get in touch with the following details, your age, your experience (years) of playing the instrument, musical background, the type of music you teach, qualifications, other instruments you play/teach, where you are located (I cannot host), locations you may know we can practice undisturbed, your general availability, costs per hour etc.
Thanks, Dee.
