Hours/shifts: Mon or Tues 9am – 3pm, Thurs 3pm – 7pm and 8 hrs once a month on a Sat or Sun
Summary
We are looking for a calm and caring person to provide some extra support to our gorgeous 2 year old son
He has some medical needs so you would need to be able to manage these but training will be given
The role is to spend time with him at home promoting his development and mobility through fun activities and exercises
He loves to go out and enjoys swimming so you would need to be comfortable to take him in the pool so you would need to be able to drive your own car
The role could be a job share so please apply for any of the days stated.

• Must be comfortable with pets
• Non-smoker preferred or someone who is willing to refrain from smoking during work hours.

Description
Typical duties
Domestic -
General tidying up after our son ie toys and keeping areas clean and hygienic
Personal Care:
You will need to be able to manage medical equipment such as PEG feed and CPAP. There are times when he can become unwell very suddenly so a calm approach to manage this is essential. He may need suctioning and oxygen before calling 999 although these situations are decreasing as he is getting older
You will need to give medication and support to do physio exercises
He needs to be put in his standing frame to promote his mobility and strength
He is starting to sit and can roll so you need to watch him so his feed pump remains in place.
We are starting food tasters twice a day but there will be a plan to follow
You will need to help him to get reading for swimming which will require disconnecting and reconnecting his PEG feed.
He is in nappies so you will need to change these as needed
Social:
Supporting and engaging in activities at home and out such as going to the park, swimming, sensory time, books (although likes to chew them). Activities to promote development but also keeping him safe.
