Role Overview:
As the CFO, you will play a crucial role in the financial leadership of our organisation, overseeing all aspects of financial management and contributing to strategic decision–making. This is a hands–on role that requires a dynamic individual with a strong financial background and a commitment to the mission and values of our charity.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the charity's mission and long–term goals.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and provide regular financial forecasts to guide organisational planning.
Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the Board of Trustees, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
Compliance: Oversee financial compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards applicable to charities.
Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, implementing effective controls to safeguard the organisation's assets.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high–performing culture.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Proven experience in a senior financial management role, preferably within the charity sector.
Strong knowledge of charity accounting, SORP, and regulatory compliance.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
