Are you a visionary leader with a passion for advancing social research and promoting the value of evidence-based insights? The Social Research Association (SRA) is seeking an exceptional individual to lead our organisation as Chief Executive Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to drive the strategic direction of a respected professional membership body and contribute to shaping the future of social research practice.

Full time, 37 hours per week (0.8FTE considered)

The SRA is the membership organisation for social researchers in the UK and beyond, with over 1500 individual members from across the profession. Our members work in universities, government, research agencies large and small, charities, and individual consultancies.

Importantly, we provide a 'home' for social researchers, a place where they can connect with others working in the same field, building professional relationships and friendships. We know our members value the role that we play and the opportunities we provide.

As the Chief Executive Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic vision and operational direction of the SRA. This position offers the opportunity to lead an organisation with a rich history and a strong reputation, while driving forward initiatives that elevate the profile and impact of social research. Reporting to the SRA's Board of Trustees, the CEO will oversee the operational management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic growth of the association.

The successful candidate will bring:

Proven senior leadership experience and passion for leading and enabling teams to thrive and develop. The ability to develop and deliver strategy with a combined focus on delivery, growth, and organisational development Good understanding of the UK social research landscape and research methods Strong networking, ambassadorial and relationship building skills If you are passionate about shaping the future of social research, dedicated to fostering professional excellence, and possess the leadership skills required to lead a dynamic organisation, we would love to hear from you.
