Write up by my husband. I know nothing about it!!!
FOR SALE Chevrolet Astro AWD - some internal reassembly required - Priced accordingly
The good bit:
Astro AWD: 1995????
4.3L V6 Petrol engine
LHD, of course !
Starcraft pack
Stainless exhaust, redirected away from the UK pavement side.
Stupidly expensive Kenwood stereo with motorised flip out screen and removable front panel
All round door deadlocks on remote control
Angel eye headlights with dipped and main HID conversion.
New rear light lenses
Wired for additional leisure battery connection (leisure battery not included)
Rear camera.
Rear electric bench seat unfolds into a double bed.
10 years of dust included at no extra cost.
I have the original CRT telly VHS and DVD players somewhere but I don't know why would anyone want them.
The not so good bits:
Currently SORN'd
80,000 miles (I think - The battery is disconnected so I cannot check the LED display)
Absolute wiring chaos inside.
No reason why she shouldn't start but don't want to connect the battery (due to the above)
Some wooden panels and part of the dash removed (but not lost !)
Lots of unleashed wiring inside needs tucking away.
Front seats showing some cracks.
Broken wing mirror (I have a new set of autofolders that I can include in the sale)
With a heavy heart I am putting my Chevrolet Astro up for sale.
I had her imported 16 years ago, drove her a dozen or so times and then thought it would be fun to give her a total internal revamp.
After a few weekends of stripping stuff out, we had our first kid. We now have two and that is the end of my free time and the van project.
She has sat in my barn for the last ten years, still loved but no longer touched - much like the wife.
This is an ideal purchase for someone who wants one of these great vans, for a bargain price, but isn't frightened of getting their fingers dirty.
Sale of wife, negotiable.
I have loved driving this van.
I would strongly suggest you trailer it away. Turn up without one and I will realise you are not a serious buyer.
I am happy to take extra pictures and videos if you are genuinely interested but no tyre kicking time wasters please.
