Chemist
Location: Northern CambridgeshireFull-time and permanentDay shifts and potential night shifts/weekends depending on the workload Reed Scientific are proud to be partnering with a leading pyrotechnics and special effects innovators and manufacturers. They are now seeking to recruit a Chemist due to growth to join their specialist team and progress to a managerial role once the training is completed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing new products for shows, tours and events and making samplesWriting documentation to obtain certification for new productsWriting SOPs and training staffContinued improvement of existing productsWriting risk assessments and checking in conjunction with H&S officerActing as duty manager/supervising when neededWorking with other chemists and engineersReviewing and assessing processes with operations manager and H&S managerAssisting QA, auditing and testing products on machinesAudit of chemical and explosives stores on siteLiaising with clients, companies, universities and authorities Requirements:
PhD in Chemistry (or MSc degree if you are not planning to return to university for further studies)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsInterested in progression to a management roleCan work night shifts or weekends if requiredExperience working in a laboratory is desired Benefits:
