Summary: Join our dynamic team as a Category Manager and play a crucial role in leading and delivering complex category management projects within a local authority in London. This is a 3-month contract position, offering an hourly rate of 31- 34/hour
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of complex category management projects, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and compliance with legislation.Demonstrate specialise skills in your assigned category, emphasising strong customer focus, commercial acumen, and proactive contract and supplier management.Achieve and document relevant savings while considering social value, community wealth building, and sustainability targets.Manage a team of up to 5 in procurement and supply, overseeing work quality, training, and performance.Utilise e-procurement and supply systems effectively and maintain compliance with procedures and legislation.Present business reports and performance dashboards for internal and public committees.Actively contribute to the development and implementation of category plans and strategies.Qualifications and Skills:
Advanced knowledge of procurement, supply, and contract management cycles.Experience managing high-value and high-risk procurement and supply-related activities.Strong understanding of legislation, policy, and governance in procurement and supply.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.Proven leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and empower a team.Familiarity with e-procurement and supply systems.Requirements:
