Venesky–Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Cambuslang, is currently looking to recruit a Category Manager for contract until the 30th of June 2024 on a salary of GBP59,500/annum prorate. This role will hybrid working, mostly working from home with occasional onsite required.Responsibilities:– Responsible for the strategic sourcing for a specified category of spend –to–achieve savings, maintain and improve service levels in line with overall strategic aims of the organisation and relevant legislation. – Working closely with stakeholders, you will be responsible for assessing service needs in order to develop and manage sourcing solutions which ensure effective service delivery. – Through the management of the procurement process, you will deliver contract solutions which support the organisation in achieving its sustainable procurement duty. – Will work under the general direction of the Procurement Manager but will line–manage and be supported by two (2) procurement specialists in order to fulfil their duties.– As well as overseeing the remaining workplan for financial year 2023/24, which includes ICT and other directorate specific projects, you will also be responsible for the development of the work programme for financial year 2024/24, working closely with end users of the procurement function to do so. –The main project that you will be responsible for is New Mobilising System (NMS). – Responsible for the administration of this tender process and will lead/ advise on the evaluation process leading to the award of contract, which is estimated to occur in April 2024. – Working closely with the Project Manager / Project Team / External Subject Matter Experts to ensure the successful delivery of the Project. – Required to follow the Procurement governance model / processes and procedures in the undertaking of the duties associated with this post.Essential Skills:– MCIPS– Degree qualified– Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar or related senior procurement role together with detailed practical knowledge and application of the procurement legislative framework applicable to public bodies. – Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and influencing skills are crucial to your success in the post. – Have the ability to build good relationships with internal and external colleagues.– Experience of working with senior stakeholders within the organisation.– Good analytical and problem–solving skills are required as is the experience and ability to lead, develop and motivate a team.– Ability and skill to plan, prioritise and organise your own workload and that of your team, and the ability to adapt to a fluctuating workload effectively in a fast–changing environment. – Must be able to deal with multiple priorities while working to tight deadlines.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
