One of our clients, a market leading manufacturer in the area, is searching for an experienced Buyer to join their team on a fixed term contract.
The main duties will be as follows: develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimise procurement processes; identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships; collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and requirements; analyse market trends and conditions to make informed purchasing decisions; monitor inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of goods and services; maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information; stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in procurement technology; strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices; proficiency in using procurement software and fully conversant with MRP process; excellent negotiation skills to secure favourable terms with suppliers; ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions; strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers; attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchasing processes; knowledge of logistics and transportation processes; familiarity with inventory management systems.
