Description

As part of your placement you can expect to gain experience across a number of our Deals teams including Lead Advisory, Transaction Services, Value Creation and Realisation, and Restructuring and Forensic Services.

In Lead Advisory - The 'Create' business - providing market leading financial advisory services across a full suite of products and services. From Corporate Finance, that includes acquisitions and disposals, restructuring M&A, valuations, as well as debt and capital advisory.

In Transactions Services - the 'Transact' business - supporting clients analyse and determine the financial aspects of a corporate event, including a sale, acquisition or merger. Maximising value along the way. From financial due diligence on the buy or sell side, to support with transactions contracting and dispute resolution.

In Value Creation & Realisation - the 'Optimise performance' business - helping our clients to achieve value, business growth and resilience. Supporting clients with investments, setting and implementing commercial and operational value creation plans, and providing advice and services both pre and post transaction.

In Restructuring & Forensics - the 'Protect and recover' business - supporting clients in stress or distress situations. Helping them to respond, restructure and transform, as well as prepare for, respond to and emerge stronger from a wide range of business risks and issues.

Programme Open to all, this vacancy is aimed primarily at inspiring and supporting Black students seeking an experience in professional services as part of our commitment to improve diversity across the organisation. The programme focuses on developing confidence and skills and provides an insight into the opportunities available at PwC.

During this three-day paid programme you'll get an insight into what a career at PwC could look like, you'll meet mentors and buddies who'll represent the variety of opportunities available across PwC. You'll meet some of our Black colleagues to hear about their own personal career journeys, as well as from some of our networks focussed on Inclusion and Diversity. Through interactive sessions the programme will help you to develop confidence in a business setting and encourage you to bring your whole self to the workplace. At PwC, we nurture an environment where our people can be the best they can be.

Our Black Talent in Business programme will be a 3-day paid programme, 16 - 18 April 2024. You will need to be in the UK to complete this programme.

Office locations

The office locations for this role are;

London

Birmingham

Manchester.

We'll ask for your office preference locations during the recruitment process. If you successfully complete the recruitment process we'll then let you know which office you will be based in during the three-day programme by the end of February. Please be aware that we may not be able to offer you your top office location.

What you'll do

During your placement, we'll aim to give you as many experiences as possible, including exposure to client work; although the exact nature of the work you'll do will depend on what projects we're working on at the time of your placement.

This could involve researching, modelling, writing reports, analysing data or developing options and recommendations on a project Business Restructuring Services; supporting on acquisitions and disposals for corporate or private equity clients in Corporate Finance; to helping clients get to the bottom of particularly complex business issues in Forensic Services. Or you could be involved in business development work; researching companies and supporting with industry analysis.

What you'll need

You'll need to be on track to pass an undergraduate degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course to pass based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study.

You'll need to be a first year undergraduate university student on a three-year degree course; or

You'll need to be a second year undergraduate university students on a four-year degree course.

During the Black Talent in Business programme, you will be assessed using a variety of methods to deem your eligibility to be offered a place on our Summer Internship programme 2025. By applying to the Black Talent in Business programme, you are confirming that you will be available to complete the Summer Internship programme in July 2025 should you receive a subsequent offer.

When to apply

To join the Black Talent in Business First Year programme you'll have to complete and pass two stages of our selection process; the online test and video interview.
