Connect is a specialist provider of award-winning web solutions. We are experts in web development and design, intranet development, app development, content management systems, database systems and software development. We also provide web hosting and support services.

The Role:

Connect is an award-winning web design agency, looking for a Bid Writer to join our team.

As a key member of Connect's bid team, you will be responsible for writing clear, professional bids, whilst also collating and editing information from colleagues.

Your excellent writing and verbal skills will enable you to engage and persuade customers, creating compelling, customer-focused content. You will take part in pitches to customers from time to time, presenting our bids clearly and concisely. Some UK-based travel may be necessary occasionally.

You will assist in researching and evaluating tender opportunities, liaising with customers and ensuring procurement processes are followed. You will be accurate and highly organised; effective time management is essential and you must be comfortable working on multiple bids at any one time.

Most importantly, you will help us continue to expand our prestigious client base. We have an impressive list of customers that includes local and central government, NHS Trusts, charities, bluelight organisations and private sector companies.

Responsibilities:

Writing, editing and formatting documents to create concise, powerful and convincing contentAssisting the team to identify solutions based on technical requirementsAssisting with sourcing and evaluating relevant tender opportunitiesLiaising with clients and internal teams to identify and bring to life key messages and winning themes for each bidCreating, contributing to and assisting in the presentation of solutionsDrafting financial costings for proposed bidsDrawing upon and developing our library of content resources to deliver continuous improvement and ensure they are kept up to dateUsing internal resources appropriately and tailoring to the needs of each bidUsing online tendering systems and portals to communicate with prospective customers and submit bidsAbility to distil lengthy content into concise impactful summaries, drawing out the key pointsRecording and tracking bid progressConsistently reviewing the quality of your own work and that of others; proof reading, checking consistency and accuracyProactively following up relevant opportunitiesOther duties as requiredEssential Requirements:

At least two years' experience of writing successful bidsExcellent written and verbal communication abilities; we will ask to see evidence of your writing skillsExcellent time management and organisational skills, able to work calmly and efficiently in a time sensitive environmentAbility to consistently format documentationConfidently liaise with and present to potential customers both online and in personExcellent knowledge of MS Word and Excel and a good knowledge of PowerPointDemonstrable experience of prioritising work and working to deadlinesAbility to work constructively and effectively as part of a team and self-motivated with the ability to work independently when requiredGreat attention to detail, thorough and accurateResponsive and expeditious when dealing with clients in all forms of communicationYou must be comfortable liaising with technical colleagues and customer at all levelsYou should be an experienced and regular user of digital media, for example internet platforms and mobile apps with an interest in digital technologyDesirable Requirements:

An understanding of public sector procurement processesExperience of working within a web/digital services environmentExperience of working within a customer facing environmentPerks:
