Role Overview:
We are collaborating with our client to identify a talented Bid Manager who will be instrumental in managing all aspects of tender and bid development. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful acquisition of projects at agreed cost margins. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the complete tender development process, ensuring the timely submission of all tenders. Effectively communicate with stakeholders, including Senior Management and clients. Ensure consideration of up-to-date specification documents and drawings when scoping bids. Develop and manage a bid programme, obtaining costs for raw materials and sub-contract bought-out items. Assess project risks and communicate them to Senior Management. Attend relevant meetings, including handover and client meetings. Proactively identify and mitigate risks through early design and tendering processes. Produce and issue compliant quotations following company procedures. Other Responsibilities: Respond to communication from clients, suppliers, and senior management. Attend off-site meetings with the Commercial team. Amend quotations and bills as per changed instructions. Obtain samples as requested by clients and senior management. Issue handover documents upon securing a contract. Comply with all Company policies, including Health & Safety and Environmental/Sustainability Policies. Act as an ambassador of the company, promoting the culture and values. Seek continuous improvement and comply with objectives/targets/KPIs. Perform any other duties relevant to the role as determined by the Manager. Training & Development: Attend internal/external training courses relevant to the role. Engage in ongoing personal development. Knowledge & Experience: Strong commercial background in the external fa ade market. Ability to work autonomously with a drive to succeed. Proven track record of interfacing with clients and delivering profitable orders. A proactive individual capable of influencing decisions with clients, contractors, and architects. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Good technical understanding of glass, windows, doors, aluminium curtain walling, and rainscreen systems. IT Skills: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, MS Outlook, Internet Explorer, and PDF primo. Schuecal (Schuco Windows and Curtain walling). Evaluate (Construction industry estimating software), or other construction estimating software. Basic AutoCAD experience would be beneficial.
