I am working with a utilities and infrastructure consultancy, with offices across the UK, who are seeking an Associate Ecologist to join a rapidly growing Environmental Planning team. Following consistent growth through 2023 and an increase in projects across renewable energy, utilities, and major infrastructure, the team requries an experienced Ecologist, with experience managing staff and expert understanding of UK ecology to lead the team across the UK. Primarily based out of one of the West England or South West offices. Role & Responsibilities Provide expertise on design and development proposals, including appropriate site location and construction methodologies. Provide advice on HRAs and ensure completion in line with time budgets. Act as technical lead for Ecological surveys and reports. Mentorship of junior and consultant ecologists Management of extensive contractor network across the UK Client liaison with internal and external bodies, such as Natural England, County Ecologists and local authorities. Assist on project developments within SSSI, SPA, RAMSAR, SAC and permission applications. Provision of innovative mitigation solutions enhancement for sites with varying levels of ecological and environmental sensitivity Qualifications & Requirements: CIEEM Chartered essential.
