Salary: GBP63,500 - GBP83,500

Role Type: Permanent, Full time or Part-time role. Open to and supportive of flexible working.

Location: London Hybrid. The role-holder will be expected to join at least weekly sessions in our London office; with flexibility on working from home at other times

Role overview

As we continue our exciting growth plans in 2024 to deliver on our ambitious goals and refreshed strategy, we re looking for a Commercial Associate Director to join our Growth and Development Team. We anticipate appointing two people into this role, and there may be wider opportunities across our team for a similar role with greater investment emphasis.

The initial focus of this role will be supporting the Deputy CEO in delivering a portfolio of work which will involve:

competing, negotiating and managing innovative lending pilots with commercial lenders and mainstream providers considering and progressing merger support applications from not for profit community lenders; supporting programmes and transactions on our technology workstream; considering ad hoc strategic opportunities for market interventions and transformations.

This means you will be passionate about delivery getting things done with others and delivering value for money and great outcomes.

You ll have experience of working with public funds and procurement or subsidy and commercial contracting and negotiations. You ll enjoy both broad commercial negotiations and ensuring that the details are covered well in contracts to ensure all sides are clear from the outset on what they are committing to. As we are a small team you ll be content to roll your sleeves up and get the job done, whatever that entails.

Essential experience and capabilities

To be successful you will need:

High tolerance for complexity and ambiguity - ability to take commercial arrangements from scoping through to procurement, delivery, learning and evaluation, closure or scaling up. Exceptional stakeholder management skills including ability to operate in a multi-stakeholder, multi-funder environment and bring clarity to complexity In depth understanding and experience of using a variety of procurement instruments and an affinity with state aid/subsidy considerations Contract and Supplier Management skills - The ability to work collaboratively with suppliers, being able to iterate and learn within proposition pilot experiences to contribute to improved supplier and outcome performance and utilise, where relevant, contract structures for extensions, variations, transfers, data management Highly numerate with a keen understanding of structuring commercial deals to work for all parties Fluent in commercial contractual arrangements and in the management of external counsel and specialist consulting expertise where additional insight is needed Experience working alongside investment professionals to structure arrangements where lending capital is provided to enable the delivery of financial services drawing on investment specialists insight on intercreditor agreements where appropriate

Have in depth experience of financial services especially as regards consumer facing propositions and the commercial arrangements in place for their delivery
