Your new companyA leading variety discount retailer is looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their company as soon as possible. They offer over 5,000 products and employ over 6,000 people nationwide.Your new roleThis is an excellent opportunity for a keen and analytical mind to join as an Assistant Management Accountant.You will be reporting to the Financial Controller. The primary purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the group's financial and tax reporting requirements, as well as supporting the financial governance and control of the organisation.Main responsibilities include:

As part of a team, supporting the production of monthly and year–end accounts.Responsible for accurate and timely accruals and prepayments.Producing month–end journals for review.Support the monthly management accounts process.Support the year–end reporting and audit process.Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliation's.Involvement in setting up supplier payment details.Ad hoc involvement in finance projects as required.Working with internal, external tax auditors, consultants and other service providers.Drive improvements and efficiencies, raising financial awareness across the business. Keen attention to detail & enthusiasmGood analytical skillsProblem–solvingMS Excel skillsExperience using ERP system i.e. posting journals, running reports etc.Double entry bookkeeping is essentialBalance sheet reconciliation skillsGood time management skillsACA/ACCA/CIMA part qualified, or relevant Finance degree What you'll get in return
