This is an ideal role for someone who is looking to start a career within journal publishing and who is looking for a role with the opportunity to shape a new journal and become in volved with artificial intelligence within the medical field.

As Assistant Development Editor, you will have the exciting opportunity of working on one of the fastest-growing areas of medicine, by taking charge of the AI journal and its digital partner. An integral part of this role will include building knowledge of research advances and subject experts within scope, ensuring high quality content is commissioned and published to deadline. This role will provide full training.

Some of the key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

Keep up to date with research advances via appropriate news sites, conference programmes, discussions with Editorial Board members/subject experts and competitor analysisPrepare and deliver appropriate article acquisition strategies to meet publication targets Define and action a regular communication strategy for Editorial Board members to encourage active engagementIdentify key subject experts in centres of excellence of relevance to the journalMonitor Editorial Board member activity Be the first point of contact for your journalsManage content pipeline to meet article publication targets and production deadlinesMonitor progress of all on-going authors to company timeframes The successful person will be educated to degree level in a life science subject and should be able to demonstrate an interest in AI. You will have a keen interest in scientific communication, with outstanding organisation skills, and the ability to use data to inform all decisions. A creative thinker, you will have the ability to work quickly, under pressure and to deadlines.
