Aspire Jobs is delighted to be working with a leading distributor, who is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join their team as an Assistant Buyer. Based in their Ringwood office, the Assistant Buyer will play a key role in supporting the Purchasing team in various tasks related to procurement and supplier management. The role would suit someone who is comfortable working in a fast paced environment offering good career potential. The training will take 6-12 months depending on level of experience and is a quite intense workload.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supplier Management:
Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and ensure timely delivery of products. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and resolve issues promptly. Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost effectiveness. 2. Purchase Order Processing:
Create and manage purchase orders accurately and efficiently using the company's procurement system. Monitor and track open purchase orders, ensuring timely receipt of goods and services. Collaborate with internal departments to confirm order specifications, communicate lead times and resolve discrepancies Ensure system and purchase order prices are accurate. Work with Accounts team to resolve PO/Invoice queries. Assist in sourcing alternative products to long term out of stock lines 3. Inventory Management:
Assist in maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing excess stock. Assist with annual stock take process 4. Data Analysis:
Prepare reports and analyse data related to purchasing activities, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives. 5. Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant documentation. Qualifications:
• Proven experience in a similar purchasing role preferrable
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficient in using MS Office applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
