The starting salary for this role is GBP31,262 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week

This role is based at Merrow Depot, Guildford but has good opportunities for flexible working including working from home on some days and at other Surrey County Council office space across the County.

We are excited to be recruiting a new Asset Strategic Programme Assistant within our Asset Strategic Programme Team under the Network and Asset Management Group. This role will be supporting in the recovery of damage caused to Highway Assets.

Surrey County Council is the Highway Authority for roads within the county. This position sits within the Network and Asset Management Groups, whose responsibility is to develop and deliver asset management, manage highway networks and set local policies. The group works jointly with a range of partner organisations to identify and deliver planned maintenance improvements and leads on several statutory duties including network management and safety.

About the Role

As Asset Strategic Programme Assistant you will be responsible for assisting with managing the Damage to County Property process on behalf of the Highways & Transport Directorate. When damage occurs to Highway assets by 3rd parties you will be assisting in claiming costs back from individuals or insurance companies. You will liaise with a number of stakeholders, as necessary, to ensure successful outcomes for the County Council.

Key tasks that you will complete within this role will include:

Managing DCP email inbox, prioritising urgent alerts and requestsCreation of comprehensive evidence packs for claims to recover the costs of the Damage caused to Highway AssetsCorrespondence with teams within Highways and Transport to obtain clear evidence for claimsCorrespondence with other stakeholders relating to claims made i.e. culprit of the damage, insurance companies to ensure successful outcomes for the Council To be shortlisted to interview for this position your CV and application will clearly evidence the following:
