Asset Operations Manager (East Coast Region)
On behalf of our client, Adecco Engineering are seeking an experienced Asset Operations Manager to support our client's business, covering the East Coast of England.
This is a permanent position and applicants can be based East Coast from Newcastle area down to London area. Approx 3 days per week based at one of the client's site/office.
Ideal candidates will have gained experience in the oil and gas, utilities or similar industry will have managed large scale maintenance teams.
We are looking for an accomplished leader who will inspire the team to deliver and improve performance ensuring services are kept running by way of maintenance, operations and emergency response resources for all Assets including Pipelines and Compressor Stations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to area teams - driving efficiency, safety, compliance, and performance excellence.
Resource Management ensure the safe management and delivery of maintenance, operations and provision of 24/7 emergency response within a geographic area including the safe setting to work of all work activities in accordance with safe control of operations.
Manage Asset Health capital works and commissioning of new assets.
Recruit and lead a highly motivated Operations team, developing talent and a performance management culture.
Develop and champion change management within Operations, formulating operational and organisational change processes for business excellence and growth.
Ensure that appropriate communication is established with relevant regulators ensuring that Operations remains compliant.
Prepare, manage, and report on financial plans and budgets for Operations, ensuring sufficient resources are available.
Candidate skills and Experience
Strong engineering and asset management background
High level experience of engineering policy, procedures and statutory regulations associated with assets.
Sound understanding of appropriate regulatory and legislative requirements (e.g. Control of Major Accident Hazard Regulations, Gas Safety (Management) Regulations & Pipeline Safety Regulations), company standards and instructions
Enthusiastic business leader with drive and ambition.
Knowledge of gas entry / exit procedures associated with GSMR and the Network Code preferred.
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Strong financial management abilities
High personal standards of commitment and integrity
Experience of successfully delivering change
Ability to establish sustainable relationships with key internal and external personnel.
High regard for personal and process safety
IOSH Managing Safely
Valid current driving licence
Preferably educated to Degree/HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally working towards Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent) or relevant experience
Large scale team management (50 +)
Budget and Capex Expenditure experience
Champion of development internal and external relationships.
