Assembly Technician – (Composite / Mechanical / Defence)Vacancy Type: PermanentHours Per Week 37.5 (Mon–Thurs)Job Description: Competent technician capable of composite and mechanical assembly and integration of complex systems working from drawings and engineering instruction. Competent and safe use of all hand and air tools. Use of Jigs, fixtures, mould tools and measuring tools on precision assemblies. Use of ovens and Autoclaves Competent in vacuum bagging techniques Problem solver with a positive attitude. Working with support from engineering group a methodical and precise approach to ensure successful completion of production tasks on high value hardware. Independently performs non–routine and moderately complex assignments. Competently uses computers and other systems to access, maintain, manipulate data. Required skills: Assembly and integration of components to create new products Working in a trials and development environment. Working to defined systems of work, specifications and work instructions Hands–on experience in a manufacturing setting with adaptable core skill sets. Independently performs non–routine and moderately complex assignments. Experienced with quality inspection points and process documentation. Attention to detail and ability to self–inspect work to ensure quality defects are mitigated. Competent and safe use of all hand and air tools. Use of Jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools on precision assemblies. Problem solver with a positive attitude. Working with support from engineering group a methodical and precise approach to ensure successful completion of production tasks on high value hardware. Complete understanding of "clean as you go"/6S/FOD/Tool control Either recognised apprenticeship in mechanical assembly or equivalent through work experience gained on the job. A very high level of health and safety awareness. Must be able to take direction well and is a strong team player. Excellent listening and communication skills. Excellent organisational skills and problem–solving skills.Preferred Skills: Competent in vacuum bagging techniques. Use of ovens and Autoclaves. Working with metallic/non–metallic materials. Working with and preparation of mould tools advantageous. Competent and experienced in the use of chemicals, glues and resins. Competently uses computers and other systems to access, maintain, manipulate data.Desired skills: Previous experience working in manufacturing work environments with assembly and fitting experienceThe Assembly Technician – Defence role will involve working on UK classified programmes, the candidate must therefore be willing and able to obtain a security clearance
