About the Role:

We're looking for sales professional to be part of the team with Mercado (Richards) The role sits within our South West Sales Team and specifically covers the TA, EX, PL, TR, TQ, DT, BH & SO Postcodes

You'll inherit a significant customer base of Commercial Flooring Contractors, Shop Fitters, retailers and Construction Project Managers, plus the goodwill and relationships enjoyed by Mercado.

Whilst Mercado has a strong and enviable reputation in the market today - there's no room for complacency. Our goal is to grow business with new and existing customers.

As the fast-growing construction market evolves at pace, your role will be to keep at the forefront of the market and new projects - spotting and leveraging opportunities to grow sales with existing products and customers; and proactively creating openings to sell in products and bring new customers on board.

You'll have all the tools to do the job: the broadest and best protection ranges, great delivery support and top-class customer service. From there it's down to you! You'll need to leverage your commerciality, customer relationship building skills, tenacity and drive to build and grow the area.

Specifically, you'll be responsible for:

Managing your area to deliver monthly sales revenue targets.

Building relationships with new and existing customers; advising andinfluencing them on the best solutions and growing Mercado sales.

Cleverly utilising technical knowledge and solution selling to introduce customers to new products and ranges and drive incremental sales.

Managing customer pricing quotations and terms to reflect the complexity of products, price points, volumes and credit terms.

Requirements:

About You:

We're looking for a proven Area Sales Manager who shares our passion for the construction, fit-out and refurbishment markets. You'll need to have the tenacity, enthusiasm and can-do attitude to take this excellent product range and build solutions, excitement and commitment in your customers.

It's pretty large geography - so you'll be organised, structured and conscientious in how you approach your territory and journey planning, reporting and follow-up activity.

Being out on the road means you'll need to be self-reliant and self-motivated, but we'd like you to be a great team player too! We have a strong team ethos and encourage all colleagues to work together to provide the best experience for our customers.

In particular you'll bring:

Sales success - in a B2B sales environment

An impressive track record of driving sales via a consultative-selling approach

You'll ideally have some experience in Construction or a related sector - or an interest you'd like to develop

Strong organisation skills and experience of working with CRM or similar systems

A strong work ethic and a passion for exploring new opportunities to build business with your customers

A full, clean Driving Licence
