How do you feel when you wake up in the morning? Is it a painful experience? Do you feel weak, cranky, heavy and exhausted? That’s exactly how I felt years ago, when I didn’t know about the importance of green leafy vegetables in my diet. I was eating mostly sugary, fatty, heavily cooked and processed foods. Not understanding why I was feeling exhausted every time I woke up at the beginning of a new day, I miraculously stumbled upon a great book by Doctor Douglas Graham about nutrition for athletes. For the first time I was introduced to alkaline foods and raw food diet. I found it fascinating that people who are top athletes would be interested in focusing on greens and fruits for their nutrition. Always being an athletic person, and training martial arts for years, I was very excited to give it a try.
