Description
The Certificate in Hindu Civilizational Studies (CHCS) is a 12-credit program that offers a comprehensive study of Hindu civilization from a Hindu perspective. The program is designed to help students comprehend Hindu Dharma, which is the sustainability or natural order that has been a part of the world's oldest continuous and still-thriving culture.
The program consists of two parts. The first part is called "Exploring Hinduism," which is a series of courses that help students understand Sanatana Dharma and Hindu thinking. This foundation of Hindu civilization is studied through its history, aspects, and practices. The course answers questions such as what is Sanatana Dharma? What is Hinduism? When did Hinduism begin? Who is Hindu? What are the differences among Hindus? Is Hinduism still relevant today? By taking these courses, students can gain a deep understanding of the Hindu civilization and its roots.
The second part of the program is called "Hindu Contributions to the World," which is a series of courses that analyzes how Hindu civilization and its knowledge systems influenced world advancement in Matter and Mind. The courses examine the sciences, technologies, innovations, industry, prosperity, wealth, and intellectual leadership that made India a sought-after civilization across time. The courses also look at how India dominated world trade for 2000 years, supplying 30% of it, and examine the components of this 33% of world trade and its impact on the world and India. The fundamental question "How could this civilization give all this and more – both to the East and the West?" is also addressed.
